Webmasters: Link to us

Linking to us will bring you good karma, luck, health, prosperity and many other untold additional benefits.

Not least among these benefits is that we will automatically link back to your site subject to approval...

... When someone follows a link from your site, our site verifies that it's an acceptible referrer (i.e. not porn, gambling etc.) and then creates a link to your site in the "Referrers" panel on the left.

Note that if your site is not already in our database it must be manually verified & approved before it can be listed. This can take a few minutes to a few hours depending on whether we're at our computers or at the bar.

Below we present three options for linking to us...

You can also use our (RSS) XML feed: greensborospecials.rss which is updated daily at midnight EST and provides full descriptions of specials listed alphabetically by venue.

Customizable Widget

Inspired by John Ford's badgelet for the dotmatrix project I decided to write a similar widget for this site. See how adaptable it is:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://greensborospecials.com/widget/?w=160&amp;c=70&amp;n=4"></script><noscript><div><a href="http://greensborospecials.com/">GreensboroSpecials.com</a></div></noscript>
This widget will show randomly selected specials of the day whenever it is loaded. The appearance of this widget can be modified in several ways:
  1. The w parameter is the width in pixels, down to a minimum of 100. If you leave it out the default is 200.
  2. The c parameter is the approximate maximum number of characters before the info item is truncated, down to a minimum of 10. If you leave it out the default is 52.
  3. The n parameter is the maximum number of specials to be shown, down to a minimum of 1. If you leave it out the default is 3.
  4. The default styling can be overridden by referencing the elements as objects of the predefined (empty) "gswidget" class as set out in gswidget.css. The default styling is here: w.css
  5. You can change the picture like this...
document.getElementById('gspecials-img').innerHTML='<img src="imgURI" alt="" />';
